Sloppy Joe’s on the Big Green Egg

This is a classic recipe that was a staple in my house growing up. My dad used to make this on Saturdays during football season. This would make for a great tailgate recipe as well on slider rolls!

·         2 LBS of Ground Chuck

·         2 Roughly Chopped Bell Peppers

·         1 Chopped Sweet Onion

·         2 TBS Steak Princess Beauty and the Beef Rub

·         24 oz. of Ketchup

·         3 TBS Yellow Mustard

·         2 TBS of Worcestershire Sauce

Preheat your BGE to 350 degrees on direct heat. Place your cast iron skillet on your grate and add 2 TBS of vegetable oil. Sauté your onions & peppers until translucent, add the ground chuck and seasoning. Brown the ground chuck and break into smaller pieces using a spatula. Mix ingredients thoroughly. Once browned add the Worcestershire sauce, Mustard and Ketchup to the burger and vegetables. Stir together and let simmer for at least 30 minutes (longer is better). Remove from heat and serve with a roll of your choice.
