Easy Crab Leg and Shrimp Boil — Big Daddy's BBQ Pit

We love a good seafood boil — and this one is dialed in exactly the way our family likes it. The spice level is approachable for everyone at the table, the steps are simple, and the result is an absolutely stunning spread of crab legs, shrimp, and corn that looks like it came from a restaurant. Can't make it outside? This works perfectly on the stovetop too. And if you want more heat — just add more seasoning. Make it your own!

🦀 The Seafood

  • 10 lbs frozen pre-cooked snow crab legs
  • 4 lbs 16–20 count frozen raw shrimp
  • 1 dozen frozen corn, cut into thirds

🍋 The Boil Base

  • 5 oranges, quartered
  • 4 lemons, quartered
  • 2–3 tbsp Louisiana Crab Boil concentrate
  • 2 cups King Craw Shrimp & Crawfish Boil seasoning
  • Water to fill your pot

Cook Timeline

Start
Bring your pot of water to a full rolling boil. Quarter the oranges and lemons and add them to the pot along with the King Craw seasoning and Louisiana crab boil concentrate.
Boiling
Add the frozen pre-cooked snow crab legs. Allow the water to return to a full boil.
5 min
Add the frozen raw shrimp. Allow the water to return to a boil.
2–3 min
Add the frozen corn and immediately shut off the heat. Cover the pot.
10–15 min
Let everything soak covered. This is where the magic happens — the seafood and corn drink up all that seasoned broth. Don't skip this step.
Serve!
Remove from the pot and serve with fresh lemon, melted butter, and cocktail sauce. Dump it on a butcher paper covered table for the full experience!
Serve It With
  • Fresh lemon wedges — squeeze over everything right before eating
  • Melted butter — for dipping the crab and shrimp
  • Cocktail sauce — classic pairing for the shrimp
  • Crusty bread — to soak up the seasoned broth
🔥 Big Daddy's Tips:
  • Pre-cooked frozen snow crab legs are the move — they're widely available, affordable, and just need to be heated through in the seasoned boil.
  • The citrus is what sets this boil apart — don't skip the oranges. They add a subtle sweetness that balances the spice beautifully.
  • Adjust the spice to your crowd — dial the King Craw and concentrate up for more heat, back off for a milder boil. This recipe is built for family-friendly flavor.
  • The 10–15 minute covered soak is non-negotiable — this is where all the flavor gets absorbed. Every minute counts.
  • Works perfectly on the stovetop — no outdoor burner required. A large stock pot on the stove handles this recipe easily.
  • Dump it on butcher paper on a table for the full seafood boil experience — easy cleanup and half the fun.

Make It Your Own

This boil is incredibly flexible. Add red potatoes and smoked sausage for a fuller spread. Throw in some clams or mussels for variety. Swap the snow crab for king crab if you're feeling fancy. Add more concentrate and seasoning if your crowd loves serious heat. The base formula is solid — make it work for your table.
