Ultimate Sweet and Smoky Maple Pecan Baby Backs
Maple Pecan Baby Back Ribs
These Baby Back Ribs were sticky, sweet and savory. These were cooked to perfection and had incredible flavor from the pecan rub and the maple glaze. This flavor profile is one we will keep in our rotation as it was enjoyed by all!
· 3 Racks of Baby Back Ribs
· Heath Riles Pecan Rub
· Heath Riles Garlic Jalapeno
· Heath Riles Honey Rub
· 1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
· 2 Sticks of Butter
· 1 Cup of Brown Sugar
· Heath Riles Maple Honey Habanero Glaze
We setup our Stump’s gravity fed smoker to run between 265-275 degrees. We used a couple chunks of pecan wood for the smoke. We seasoned our ribs with the rubs listed above lightly for each layer. We let the rub set on the ribs for about 15 minutes before placing them on the smoker. We placed them on the bottom rack bone side down for about 1 hour. After 1 hour flip the ribs meat side down for 1 hour, then flip them back for 20 minutes. Then wrap using 4-5 pads of butter, a light dusting of the Pecan Rub on the butter, a drizzle of the Maple Honey Glaze and Maple Syrup. Add 1/3 cup of Brown Sugar and tightly wrap the ribs meat side down.
After an hour start checking the ribs for doneness, when eating them at home we like them fall off the bone. Once done, glaze with your favorite BBQ Sauce and return to the smoker for 15 mins to set the sauce. After 15 mins, remove and enjoy!
